Regulatory information

Pharmacy & Prescription Information

Vaping products are regulated in Australia. This page explains, in plain terms, how those requirements apply to orders placed with iget express.

Vaping products are regulated in Australia

Vaping products are regulated in Australia under Commonwealth therapeutic goods law, alongside state and territory legislation. The rules cover who may supply a vaping product, how it may be supplied, and the circumstances in which a prescription is required.

These requirements change over time. The current position is published by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and by each state and territory health department, and those sources take precedence over anything written here.

Where a prescription is required

Where Australian requirements call for a prescription, supply is subject to a valid prescription issued by an authorised Australian health practitioner and to dispensing by a participating pharmacy. Placing an order online does not itself satisfy those requirements and does not guarantee that an order can be supplied.

iget express is a retailer. We are not a pharmacy, we do not issue prescriptions, and we cannot assess whether a prescription is appropriate for you. Any decision about a prescription is a matter between you and an authorised health practitioner.

How this affects your order

Fulfilment and supply of any order are subject to applicable Commonwealth and state or territory requirements at the time of supply. Where an order cannot lawfully be supplied, it will not be dispatched, and any amount paid for that order is refunded to the original payment method.

Delivery estimates published elsewhere on this site describe transit time once an order has been dispatched. They do not override the supply requirements described on this page.

Age requirements

You must be 18 or over to use this website or to purchase from it, and a signature may be required on delivery. Confirming your age is a separate requirement — on its own it does not satisfy the prescription, pharmacy or supply requirements described above.

Where to check the current rules

For the current national position, see the Therapeutic Goods Administration at tga.gov.au. For rules that apply where you live, see your state or territory health department. If you are considering vaping in relation to smoking cessation, speak with a doctor or pharmacist, or contact Quitline on 13 7848.
