Use a low-output charger
A standard USB-C cable into a laptop port or a basic 5W wall plug is ideal. Phone fast-chargers and multi-port GaN bricks can push far more current than the device is designed to take, and heat degrades both the cell and the e-liquid sitting next to it.
How long it takes and when to stop
Most devices in this class reach full charge in under an hour. Unplug when the indicator says it is done — leaving a small battery on a charger overnight is the habit most likely to shorten its life.
Charge early, not late
Topping up before the device feels weak keeps the coil running at proper power. Running it right down and continuing to puff is what produces a burnt coil that no amount of charging afterwards will fix.
Safety rules that are not optional
- Never charge on a bed, sofa or anything flammable
- Never leave a device charging unattended or overnight
- Never charge a device that is damaged, swollen, wet or leaking
- Stop immediately if it becomes hot to hold and let it cool away from anything flammable
- Never modify a device or use a damaged cable
